Rumor: FW 3.10 carrying Cross-game chat baggage next month



Thanks for this huge news, Naroon! Remember that much-hullabaloo'd issue on the PS3 voice chat? Well, looks like there's a "development" to this said feature, rumor as it still may be.

A VG247 source claims that he got word from another source whom they "can't name" on the said cross-title voice chat in PS3 play, and the word is good. As in it'll-be-here-by-October good. As in it-will-be-added-in-FW-update-3.10 good. Mmm-mmm...

Hold your horses, though! As mentioned above, this is still just a rumor. Don't expect Sony to buckle down to your badgering about a confirmation on this anytime soon, too. You know how they roll - they get exposed, product is leaked, they "do not comment on rumors", they eventually deny, and deny, and deny, and then they "announce" the "surprise."

We'll get a confirmation on whether this is true or not soon enough, am sure. Just sit back and enjoy your console first as it is in the meantime.

Yesterday, we reported on another rumor about cross-game chat being included in the coming FW 3.10 update from Sony. Well guess what, we have another rumor for you -- FW 3.10 is "Coming Soon".

This time, the insider source comes from TheSixthAxis, and they're claiming that not only is this true, but that the next firmware update will be coming out "either in October or November". Not too far away, really.

So again, let's recap. Rumor says: a) XMB-based cross-game voice chat will be available in FW 3.10, and b) FW 3.10 is coming within the next couple of months.
